"Commercial availability / start reliability"

"AGL Loy Yang has seen a reduction in Major Outage duration for similar scope (improved outage execution) and improved reliability (pressure parts and control system) resulting in reduced Forced and Maintenance Outages. AGL Hydro performance has been impacted by the performance of the Eildon, West Kiewa and McKay Creek stations. The drop in wind availability from previous year is mainly due to a failure at the Macarthur Wind Farm substation which resulted in half-farm outage for almost one month. "

Notes
"Commercial availability is used to measure Torrens Island performance, and represents the percentage of times the plant is available to operate when required. "
"Start reliability is used to measure the performance of Somerton and AGL Hydro. Start Reliability is the percentage of times the plant started successfully when asked to start. "
"Available capacity factor is used to measure AGL Loy Yang performance, and represents the percentage of time the plant is available to operate. "
"International benchmark refers to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation 2006-2010 historic generation Unit statistics. Note that the benchmark for AGL Hydro facilities has been adjusted for the difference in operating regime between the North American fleet and AGL's fleet which operate as peaking plant which increases the frequency of starts and stops. There is no international benchmark for wind farms, however AGL targets 95%."
